Have you ever heard of the Trevor hotline, or the short film ‘Trevor’ on HBO. If u haven’t then u might want to check out www.thetrevorproject.org . The Trevor Project is a 24/7 hotline for suicide prevention aimed at gay and questioning youth. it’s supported by The N and its been around since 1998. Basicly u can call and talk to a counselor or u can go to thetrevorhelpline.org if you go online then u can write trevor a letter and he will try to get back to you. And you can ask about anything from coming out to cutting to relationships, but its all up to you to ask by calling or logging into the internet. Plus its the only 24/7 national hotline. and if u want to help out uyou can by voulenterring at a calling center in either LA or NEW YORK CITY [ theres only two calling centers] .
I haven’t seen the movie yet but its about a gay 13-year old boy named Trevor who, when rejected by friends and peers because of his sexuality, makes an attempt to take his life, and its only 18 minutes.
So go on an spread the word about Trevor cause that helps make a difference it some kids life.
START WIT A BANG
ok soo life is starting to suck with the summer moving in…….and im starting to look at ppl different. For example for the last two weeks every time i spend time with my grandma sumhow the subject comes up of how being gay is wrong…..IM SO SICK OF HEARING THIS…Why cant she just except the world for what it is coming to and accept and appreciate the new generation/culture of today. One time she even said that the gays in california lining up to be married should be thrown in jail. So, today when she started rambling on into the subject of gays marrying i finally asked her what was her beef with them…then a whirlwind of of the same homophobic opinions came at me from my dad, grandma, and my step mom. all i heard was being gay is wrong and unhealthy over and over and over again. I didn’t even bother to say love is love and if love helps glorify God then how can love between the same gender be wrong, how can my God let those that he ‘unconditionally love’ burn in hell for being who they are?
In some weird way my dad was right you can’t justify a sin: a sin is a sin.But please explain to me how love is a sin. At the church i sumtimes go to gay people attend: they go more than me. I mean theirs this one gay guy who is there in church faithfully every sunday on time knowing his lifestyle and is not ashamed to praise his lord among other believers. Its amazing how people can have the nerve to call themselves Christian but frown upon those proud of being gay,being who they r, and walk with their head held high into the church house, not hiding from themselves.
I’m sick of all the no homo comments thats starting to spring about. If ur comfortable with ur sexuality then why say it? And if u feel like ur statement will be perceived in the wrong fashion by ur peers then don’t say it. Why must people be afraid to say i love u to sumone of the same gender and not b afraid that a peer is gonna take it da wrong way?? WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!
I love all my friends and even those who aren’t my friends but r my acquaintance I still love them. I can truly tell u that I love u dearly, and not that fake ‘i love u’ ppl say after sumone has done sumthing nice for them, I mean real love, dat unconditional love, cus dats all i hav to give, love is all we as people-as humans- have to give, no material can replace it. I love u as a friend, i love u as a homie, i love u as a person i randomly saw on the street, i love you if u r hater, i love u if i met u on myspace, i love u for u. i dont care how u take my last sentence cause no matter how u took it i still love u, and u can bet ya last dollar on that.
